Nowadays in order to
obtain a rich browsing experience you really do need to
have scripting enabled. Just ensure you are up to
date with virus protection, operating system updates and
a firewall and scripting will be very safe

that you are using to find out how to enable JavaScript:
Internet Explorer 5.x
and above for Windows
1.
Select Tools> Internet Options.
2. Select the Security tab.
3. Verify that the Internet web content
zone is highlighted.
4. Click the Customize Level button at
the bottom of the Internet Options Window.
5. Use the scroll bar to move down to the Scripting
Section.
6. Under Scripting, select either Enable
or Prompt.
7. Click OK to close the Security
Settings window, and then click OK to
close the Internet Options window.
Internet Explorer 5.x
and above for Macintosh
1.
Select Edit> Preferences.
2. Click the arrow next to the Web Browser to expand the
list of choices to the left.
3. Select Web Content
4. Under Scripting, select the Enable scripting
checkbox.
5. Click OK.
Internet Explorer 4.x
1.
Select View> Internet Options.
2. Select the Security tab.
3. Verify that the Internet web content
zone is highlighted.

and then select the Settings button.
5. Use the scroll bar to move down to the Scripting

6. Under Active Scripting, select either Enable
or Prompt.
7. Click OK to close the Security

Select Edit> Preferences.
2. From the Category list, select Advanced.
3. Select the Enable Java Script
checkbox.
4. Click OK to close the Preferences
window.
